Services
Appointments
While we do not offer walk-in appointments, we do have an open access
schedule. That means that we make every effort to accommodate ill
patients in same-day appointment slots. For your first visit, please
arrive 15 minutes early in order to complete the paperwork process.
We ask that you respect other patients that have appointments and
arrive on time to your own. If you are over 15 minutes late, you will
be asked to re-schedule. You may download new
patient forms and send them to us by mail, fax, or you may bring
them in on appointment day.

Insurance
Family Medicine at Lowry, P.C. is contracted with most major insurance
groups in an effort to provide quality help to our patients in obtaining
payment for medical services. The list provided indicates those companies
with which we are contracted. While every effort is made to keep our
affiliation with each insurance company current, we cannot guarantee
coverage for our patients. Please refer to the list and contact your
company to confirm our participation with them. We are also happy
to see patients who do not have insurance, and accept cash, Visa/MC.

Laboratory and X-ray
We have a lab on the premises and send most specimens out for testing
after the blood is drawn. It takes an average of a week to receive
and review the blood test and culture results. We will notify you
about all results, if they are normal or abnormal. If it has been
more than 14 days from your blood draw and you have not heard from
us, please call us. We do not have X-ray services in the building,
but there are many facilities in close proximity.
Prescription Refills
We literally receive hundreds of refill requests each day! The most
efficient way to get a prescription refill is call your pharmacy,
even if your bottle says “no refills”. The pharmacist
will contact us directly for approval and you simply have to go pick
up the refill from the pharmacy. Please call several days BEFORE you
run out of your medication.
Referrals
Referrals are done as quickly as possible. Unfortunately, we are at
the mercy of the insurance companies and sometimes have to wait a
few days for a decision from them. Please allow 3 days for referrals
to be processed. It is important not to wait until the day of your
appointment with the specialist to request a referral, as it may not
be processed.
After Hours
FMAL is committed to providing our patients with access to a clinician
after hours and on holidays. In order to continue providing this service,
we ask that you reserve after-hours calls for emergencies only. Please
note that when we are on call, we are at home with our families, not
here in the office. Some things to consider prior to calling the after-hours
provider:
- Is this an urgent medical matter that cannot wait until the office is open?
- If you think a trip to an ER or Urgent Care is needed, you do not need our permission. You do, however, need to know which facilities are preferred by your insurance company. Only your insurance carrier has this information. It is important for you to know that before an emergency comes up. Click here for links to local hospitals and Urgent Care facilities.
- Medication refills must be taken care of during normal business hours.
- Narcotics or antibiotics will not be prescribed after hours under any circumstances
- Important: when paging the on-call clinician, you must unblock your telephone line. To do this, turn on the phone, press *87, and hang up. You will not receive a call back unless this is done. To reach the on call provider, please call our main number at (303) 344-3625 and follow the instructions.
